Ningombam Bupenda Meitei, the Founder of The Nehruvian, visited the official residence of the former Lok Sabha Speaker and M. P. (Lok Sabha) P. A. Sangma in New Delhi to pay his last respect to P. A. Sangma. In a condolence prayer held at Sangma’s residence in New Delhi, he paid homage to the departed soul and spoke about his association with Sangma family and inspiration from P. A. Sangma’s charismatic leadership with smile, wit and humour.

Bupenda Meitei gave his deepest condolence to his family members. On the last journey with P. A. Sangma, Bupenda Meitei spent a considerable length of time with his sons, James Sangma and Conrad Sangma, and daughter Agatha Sangma in New Delhi. He also shared his pain and sorrow to P. A. Sangma’s wife.

Bupenda Meitei states, “In the sudden demise of P. A. Sangma ji, the Light of the North East India has gone and the Smile of India has faded away. P. A. Sangma was such a leader from the North East India who could directly speak to any Prime Minister or President of India. He was a natural leader of all the tribal and Catholic Christian communities of India. His smile, his genuine and deep listening power and influential leadership clout in New Delhi’s power corridors have become a history today. Mother India, indeed, has lost such a sparkling gem and his loss will forever create a deep vacuum of a vibrant, vocal and powerful mongoloid featured leader in India’s Parliament. May his soul rest in peace. May the Lord give strength to his bereaved family members to bear the pain of his sudden demise.”
