CULTURAL FORUM, MANIPUR OBSERVES 59TH FOUNDATION DAY

Imphal, April 17, 2017 (DIPR): Literature and culture are reflections of a society, said Education, Labour and Employment Minister Shri Th Radheshyam today. He was speaking at the 59th Foundation Day Celebration of The Cultural Forum, Manipur at Lamyanba Shanglen, Konung Lampak.

The Minister continued preserving and encouraging our literature and culture will strengthen the society. Words spoken, he said, can influence one’s life a lot, and added word if can encourage someone then it can also destroy.

He further said he will discuss the three points brought up by Cultural Forum, Manipur with the Chief Minister and other cabinet ministers. The three points are requirement of a hall for cultural activities and increase in the grant-in-aid of the forum and to work to take the Manipuri language to the status of Classical Language of India.

He said though he can’t give any commitment at the moment, he will do his level best.

The Minister also released three books ‘Lalhouba amasung Atei Sheireng’ a Manipuri translation of Najuru Islam the Bengal author, ‘Rajkumarigi Satin’ by BK. Pansimayum and ‘Imagi Maithong’ of Meisanam Kamal.

The function was presided over by The Cultural Forum, Manipur president Prof. Huirem Behari Singh. (DIPR)
