EDUCATION MINISTER RADHESHYAM FLAGS-OFF STUDENTS’ EXPOSURE VISIT TO UKHRUL

Imphal, 19th May 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam flagged off a two-day Field Exposure Visit to Ukhrul for 10 students each from eight districts to witness the Shirui Lily Festival, 2017. Another 10 students from Ukhrul district will join the team at Ukhrul District Headquarter.

The students accompanied by officials of Sarva Sikhsha Abhiyan, State Mission Authority, Manipur, will halt a night at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul. As a part of the visit, the students will participate in an interaction programme with local students and people at the Ukhrul Higher Secondary School.

While interacting with the students before their departure, the Minister said, such field visits are always interesting and they will find quite a lot to learn from the visit. He elaborated, the students should not only enjoy the trip, but at the same time absorb all the positive knowledge they can so that they could act as catalyst for a positive change and sow the seed of integration, peace and harmony in the state.

The Shirui Festival is an annual festival and this time the government has put maximum effort to bring communal harmony among the people, he added. The Field Exposure Visit is being coordinated by SSA, SMA as part of certain exchange programme for students to provide them with an opportunity to explore new things, he said. (DIPR)

State Project Director SSA/SMA and Director, Education (S), Manipur Shri N. Praveen said another group of 52 students of Irilbung High School will leave Imphal on a similar trip today. The team will return to Imphal in the evening. (DIPR)
