EDUCATION MINISTER VISITS THE SCHOOLS OF SAIKUL

Imphal 13th June 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam along with Shri Yamthong Haokip MLA Saikul AC today visited Thangtong Higher Secondary School, Thangkanphai, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Ekou Mulam and Deputy Inspector of Schools, Saikul after felicitating the successful candidates of class 10th and 12th examination 2017 of Saikul Block.

Education Minister speaking as the Chief Guest of the felicitation programme said whatever is required for the betterment of education and their institutions, he will discussed and try to implement in the best way the government could. He also heard the grievances of the teachers and faculties of the schools.

During the felicitation of the successful candidates, MLA Yamthong Haokip highlighted the need to establish a college in the Saikul Block for there is no college in the said village until today. He said there are schools but no college for higher education; thus, the students after completion of higher secondaries they go either to the city or to other state for pursuing higher education. He also brought up that numerous students’ gets drop out due to inability to pursue for higher studies.

Th. Radheshyam said every step for new infrastructural development of the education will be made according to the need base keeping in view for betterment of students who is the future pillar of the nation as a whole.

To address the existing issues of education in the state, the Minister said his team has been conducting surveys to identify the problems prevailing in the educational institution to be addressed and solved after prioritizing according to the need base.

Teachers, he said, are those who impart education to the children and thus the recruitment of the teachers will be made focusing on those who can abide the professionalism of teaching. He added recruitment, if possible, will be done from the respective districts to stop appointing of proxy teachers against the teacher posted in the far flung places. For the welfare of the teachers, he said, he had requested the chief minister of the state to allocate the fund timely so that the salary of the teachers could be sanctioned on time. (DIPR)
