EXISTENCE WOULD BRING DEVELOPMENT IN BOTH THE STATES: NAGALAND CM

Imphal, May 9, 2017 (DIPR): “Peaceful co-existence of different cultures and ethnic groups would bring development in the region”, said Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu at a press conference held today at Classic Grande, Imphal. Stating the meeting with Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh just a courtesy call, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu said that different ethnic communities should learn to live together and should strive to retrieve the bond of living together peacefully as a good neighbours in the region.

Chief Minister of Nagaland said that people of the Manipur have seen a new ray of hope in the new government and the Meiteis should play the role of big brother to create peace and friendship among the different ethnic communities. He further said, “We must realize that it is our due responsibility that the peace would be uphold to usher development in the both the States”. Talking about the responsibility of media, he stressed that the media has a constructive role and responsibility to project the positive image of the people and government to the outside world.

He appealed that the people have to live together as good neighbours as existed since time immemorial between our forefathers.

Prior to the press conference, Chief Minister, Manipur Shri N. Biren Singh warmly welcomed Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu at his office chamber. On the occasion, Shri N. Biren Singh presented paintings to Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu. Later Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu gifted a traditional Gong to Chief Minister, Manipur. Chief Minister of Nagaland was accompanied by former CM, Nagaland who is also Advisor Finance and Chairman DAN, Shri T.R Zeliang, Minister for School Education, Shri Yitachu, Commissioner and Secretary to CM, Shri I. Himato Zhimoni, Vice President, NPF Shri Zaku i/c Manipur State, Personal Secretary to CM, Shri Diethoselhou Sachu and Press Secretary to CM, Shri Sebastian.

Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu who visited Manipur for a few hours to meet Chief Minister in a private helicopter landed at Kangla Helipad. Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and his associates were received by Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh, Minister for Education, Th. Radheshyam, Minister for PHE, Shri Loshii Dikho, Parliamentary Secretary, PWD, Awangbow Newmai, Parliamentary Secretary (Home), L. Sushindro, Parliamentary Secretary (Planning) Shri Khasim Vasum, Parliamentary Secretary (PHE), Shri K. Leishiyo. After attending the lunch hosted by the State Government at Classic Grande, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu left Imphal for Kohima. (DIPR)
