FELICITATION PROGRAMME HELD

Imphal, 11th June, 2017 (DIPR): Felicitation programme for 30 students of HSLC & HSS Examination,2017 organised by Churachandpur Meetei Students’ Union was held at Khumu Jamba Meetei Leikai, Churachandpur yesterday.

The function was graced by Agriculture,Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Shri V.Hangkhanlian,ADC Chairman Khaipao Haokip, V/C ADC V. Khaikhanmung and Deputy Commissioner Shri Shyamlal Poonia IAS & Naorem Ibomcha Meetei as Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and Functional President respectively.

During the programme, the Minister congratulated all successful candidates and expressed his appreciation to the organisers for arranging such programme. He said that students are the hopes of the future who would become leaders and builders of the society and nation. Appealing the students, he said that competition is higher than before, they need to work harder in their studies to reach the top. He further expressed his desire to extend all possible help to those students suffering from financial problems in their further education .

Focussing on the duty of the students to know their responsibility & work persistently, Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur Shri Shyamlal Poonia said that parents need to encourage the students in their education who would become future leaders of the country.

He later encouraged, “ There are many jobs not only in Govt. sector but also in various avenues where the students can try their hands after completing their education .It is the role of the parents to spread awareness to their children regarding job possibilities beyond public arenas.”

The organisers awarded certificates and cash prizes to 21 HSLC & 9 HSSE successful candidates and the gold medallist in Mathematics from Manipur University , Laishram Melody daughter of L Chandra of Mandop Leikai, Churachandpur.

In the programme, other dignitaries,teachers and leaders also spoke encouragement to the students. Around three hundred local people participated in the programme. (DIPR)
