GSW IYU to hold essay contest for young journalists

Imphal, January, 10: The Great silk way International youth Union, GSW IYU,  an international non-commercial organisation established to coordinate the activities of youth organisations and to represent, protect their common interest, is all set to hold international essay writing contest for the young journalist working in the North east states.

Talking to reporters here at Manipur Press club, L. Tilotama Devi, Vice President of GSW Interntaional youth Union, Asian zone said that the professional journalists of North east India between the age 18 to 40  are eligible for the contest. The contest will be held on local level in each member country both in native and English language. The winners will be selected by the jury voting, consisting of professional journalists and a representative of GSW IYU. The three winners of the contest will be awarded Tablet PC, Samsung Mobile handsets as well as trip to Kazakhstan to participate in the COMEM of GSW IYU. Winning articles will be given with high media coverage in all member states.

 

She went on to say  that original works of the authors should be in Azeri, having charactors not more than 5000 and the theme of the essay should be focussed in the following subjects; 1. The historical and cultural role of the country in the history of the great silk road,  2. Intercultural dialogue between the countries along the historical silk road,  3. Cultural transformation of modern cities along the silk road. Willing Contestants should submit their entries to [email protected] or [email protected] on or before 14 february, 2014.
