‘LET THE GOVERNMENT RENDER ITS DUTIES WITHOUT ANY INFLUENCE’

Imphal, July 09, 2017 (DIPR): Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh urged the people of the State to help the Government in running administration without any influence.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a One-day Awareness Programme on Various Workers’ Welfare Schemes Cum Labour Cards Distribution, held at his private residence at Luwangshangbam in Imphal East district today.

Urging the people to help the Government rendering its duties with no influence, Shri N. Biren also made his earnest appeal to the public to extend support and co-operation to the Government when it takes action against those who are involved in fake encounters and corruption cases.

Maintaining that uplifting needy people and women is a must if the State has to achieve egalitarian development; the Chief Minister further stated that the State Government is planning to introduce a special scheme for the widows from the current financial year.

Sharing his views on the main causes of natural calamities and flash floods recently witnessed in the State, the Chief Minister opined that human development should not disturb the natural systems of the Mother Nature.

He assured the masses that the Government would translate all its commitments into action one after another soon.

Speaking at the function as the guest of honour, Labour and Employment Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam observed that economic development should begin from the last man or the poorest person.

The Minister said that different benefits are entitled to those who have labour cards. However, very few people know about these benefits, he added.

As such, people who have labour cards should approach the State Labour Department and Labour Unions to demand their entitled rights and benefits on time, he observed.

He further said that the Government would take action against those officials who deny these benefits to the labourers.

Later, the Chief Minister distributed labour cards to selected beneficiaries at the function.

Kontha Khabam Zilla Parishad Member Smt. P. Bimola, Deputy Labour Commissioner Shri E. Tomba, Manipur Building Constructions Welfare Board (MBCWB) Chairperson Shri S. Preshyojit, Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency (MIDA) Vice-Chairman Shri M. Asnikumar and BJP Heingang Mandal President Shri Kh. Jilla also attended the function as presidium members. (DIPR)
