PNB, ultra small branches opened at Irilbung

Imphal, August 25: Three ultra small branches of Punjab National Bank, Irilbung have been opened up at five different villages in Imphal east on Saturday last.

The villages where PNB ultra small branches were opened up are Keirao Bitra, Langdum, Kiyamgei Muslim, Urup and Keirao Makting. Laishram Indrakumar Singh will work as Field Business Correspondent for PNB, ultra small branch located at Keirao Bitra while Longjam Dinesh Singh, Mutum Tomba Singh, Ngangbam Amukhomba Meetei and Mutum Irabanta Singh work as FBCs in the PNB ultra small branches located at Landum, Kiyamgei Muslim, urup and Keirao Makting villages respectively.   

Mr. M. Subash, Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Irilbung, M. Romeshchandra, Pradhan Keirao Gram Panchayat, K. Suresh, Pradhan, Chanam Sandrk GP, Mrs. Rehina, Pradhan Kyamgei Muslim Arapti GP, Mr. Samananda, Administrative officer of Best Business Centre, imphal graced the Bank opening function as pResidium Members.

Speaking to the Gathering, M. Subash, Branch Manager, PNB, Irilbung said that in pursuance of the policy of  Reserved Bank of India to provide doorstep Banking services and facilities in the remote unbanked  villages, the PNB, Ultra small branches are opened up in these villages. Benefits of direct cash Transfer, Government benefit schemes, MGNREGS, Old ages pensions, KCC loans etc. will now be provided through the accounts of the beneficiaries opened up with such Ultra small branches.

“ Now the villagers will be able to enjoy the benefits of the PNB bank through the ultra small branches opened up at their respective villages.  The Field Business correspondents (FBC) deployed to these PNB Ultra small branches have been authorised by the bank authority to work, provide all the banking facilities meant for the public. FBCs are the intermediaries between the bank and the people. People are required to enjoy the benefits of the bank through consultation and cooperation with the business correspondents. Transaction of cash will be carried out in the villages with the help of the Smart Transaction system machine of The BCs. Smart card Account numbers will be provided to the People and People will not be charged any money for opening their Account with the bank. It’s completely free and no frill account system”, pointed out the Manager.

 

He further said that generally people think taking bank loan to be an uphill task but it is not so. It is not  a difficult task if the people are sincere. If not sincere, it will be difficult to get benefit from the bank. Bank is always ready to help those trustworthy people.
