SLVER JUBILEE OF ALL COMMUNITES GURU PUJA 2017 STARTS TODAY

Imphal, May 22, 2017 (DIPR): The 4-day long silver jubilee ceremony of all communities Guru Puja 2017 organized by Suryabara Sana Kala Kendra kicked off at Malem Ima Community Hall, Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai today. Hon’ble Governor of Manipur Dr. Najma Heptullah; Chairman (MANIDCO) Dr. Radheshyam Yumnam; Squn.Ldr. T.S.Singh; Undersecretary, Govt. of Manipur Shri Ng. Noren; State General Secretary, BJP Manipur Pradesh, N.Nimbus; Principal SCM English School, Singjamei, Shri Sh Ibohal Singh; Padmashree awardee & Ex-principal J.N. Manipur Dance Academy, Ksh Thouranishabi Devi and member of ISKCON Manipur, Banamali Das attended the function as Chief Guest, President, Guest of Honour and resource persons respectively.

People from all the communities of Manipur took part in the auspicious ceremony.

Governor Dr. Najma Heptullah & Dr. Radheshyam Yumnam initiated the candle-lighting phase of the function. The dignitaries present in the function paid floral tribute to the photos of the Gurus. They were also presented a badge and a shawl each.

Maulana Zakir Hussain presented a beautiful Muslim religious prayer Qirat while Surbala and her party performed Guru Pranam in front of the audience.

Giving the welcome and keynote address, Secretary of Suryabara Sana Kala Kendra, Shri H Krishnakumar said that today they witnessed a unity of puja of all communities that shows the solidarity and peaceful mindset of all community groups.

Focussing on the relationship between the gurus and his students, the Governor said that guru is the creator, preserver and destroyer by setting the example of the relationship between Arjun and his guru Dronacharya from whom he had learnt the skills of archery and warfare that he is famous for in Indian history. She also stated that Eklavya obeyed his teacher even to the extent of sacrificing his thumb to fulfil his guru’s wish.

Expressing her happiness on celebrating the silver jubilee ceremony of all communities Guru Puja 2017, she said, “Even if we speak in Hindi or Urdu, we are children of one motherland i.e. Mother India. India has given Manipur a rich natural resource, tradition and culture. We get food, clothing, shelther & scenery from the soils of the motherland. It is our duty to return and show gratitude to our motherland.” She further said, “We can pay tribute to our gurus(guru dakshina) by planting a tree on every guru puja day and try our best to make the State clean and green.”

Stressing that the guru puja is the urgent need of the present day society, Shri Sh Ibohal Singh said that the relationship between the teacher and the taught is the highest and it makes the world thrive under the umbrella of love, humanity and peaceful tranquility.

Stating that today is a memorable day, Ksh Thouranishabi Devi said that the interaction of all religious communities of the State under one roof is synonymous to flowers of different colours blooming in one common garden. (DIPR)
