2nd NNPDC AWARD 2014 conferred to meritorious students

Imphal, June 2:  The second NNPDC Meritorious Award 2014 was conferred to the meritorious students of Keirao bitra who have come out successful in the class X and XII examinations at Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi community hall, keirao bitra here.

“I never dreamt that one day I would be a government officer as I was brought up with the meager income of my father, a poor farmer. Despite poor family background, I struggled, tolerated against all odds and difficulties and rather moved ahead to achieve the desired goal”, said Mutum Yaiskul Meetei, IAS, Addl. Secretary (home), Director, CAF & PD, Government of Manipur speaking as chief guest in the award presentation ceremony Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Development committee, Keirao bitra while motivating the students to work hard with self-confidence so as to achieve the goal they desire. 

Everyone is born with a commitment to the society and one must try to fulfill it while he is alive, otherwise his life is meaningless. Today’s students, when they get fully matured tomorrow, should utilize their energy for the betterment of his society, he said and added that talented students should be further nurtured under a favorable social environment with encouragement and guidelines from teachers, parents.

The award giving function was attended by M. Romeshchandra, Pradhan, Keirao Gram Panchayat as president while Salam Kunjakishore, SDO, Nungba, M. Jadumani, Vice Principal, Ananda Singh higher Secondary school, Imphal, Panchayat members L. Ajon and T. Shushilla Devi graced the occasion as guests of honour.

SDO Kunjakishore said that award presentation to the students is an encouragement to the students to boost up their effort more and applauded NNPDC, Keirao bitra for holding such function.

During the function, 18 first divisioners and 12 second and third divisioners in Class X and XII, all hailing from keirao were felicitated.

Apart from this, Cash prizes donated by Taorem Ibohal, Rtd. Govt. teacher and Heikham Lokendra were also presented to the students.
