A BRIEF REPORT ON THE ONE DAY CONSULTATIVE MEETING ON THE PROBLEMS & PROSPECTS OF ANGAAN CHING ECO PARK, KAKCHING

A One day consultative Meeting on the problems & prospects of the Angaan Ching Eco-Park, Kakching was held at

the Central Administrative Block of the Park on Sunday , the 2nd March, 2014 with Prof. N. Rajmuhon in the chair.

The meeting was attended by Smt. Kh. Sarojini Devi, Former Director, Art & Culture Department, Govt. of

Manipur, Smt. Ksh Subadani Devi, Chairperson , Kakching Municipal Council, Robart Singh Kshetrimayum (IAS),

ADC Moreh among others. The meeting discussed in detail about the various problems and issues related to the

development of the Angaan Ching Eco Park. The points suggested by Lalit Pukhrambam (US), Ksh. Chaoba Singh

(New Delhi) and N. Jiten Singh (South Korea) through email were also read out during the meeting . Shri Yumnam

Rupachandra, Editor-in-Chief, Impact TV, Imphal, Mr. Khogendra Khomdram, Editor Sangai Express (Manipuri),

Mr. Uttamkumar Naorem, Editor, IMAGE TV were also present .

Major decisions taken –

– Construction work to start within this month (March 2014) and completion of the main road (East Block side)

before Cheiraoba 2014.

– Members of the Road Construction Committee to meet every Sunday morning at the park

– Appointment of Care Taker, Mali

– Renovation/ Construction of Mahadev Mandir

– Setting up of Observatory site (by providing binoculars as first step)

– Effective Management of the Park by creating various facilities like picnic spot, organizing events, memorial

plantation, Tarpan Utsavs, nature camps, educational programmes, adventure sports, etc. in the park in

partnership with intending entrepreneur/ agripreneur , pvt. Groups , etc. which shall work for the attainment of

the objectives for which this park was developed .

– To request the Government of Manipur (1) for taking up necessary measures for the development of the

Angaan Ching Eco Park, Kakching on the basis of the recommendations made in the State of Environment

Report-2006 and (2) for organsing the State Level “World Environment Day Celebration-2014” at the Angaan

Ching Eco Park, Kakching in view of the 5th ADAM Environment Award -2014 presentation function slated to be

held on June 5, 2014.

– Unanimously decided to take necessary steps for the construction of new road from the foothill to the top of

the Angaan hill (Mahadev hill) as a priority work in order to control wildfire as well as proper road connectivity to

the visitors coming for offering prayers to Lord Shiva Mandir located on top of Angaan Ching. An Committee

comprising of the following members were also formed and some more members to be co-opted as and when

necessary for effective implementation of the proposed work.
