Helping Hands for Flood Affected People of Manipur – 2015

Flood affected people of Manipur due to the largest ever flood over a century during July 30 to August 3, 2015, counts thousands homeless and hundreds still taking shelter at relief camps. Reconstruction of these flood affected families, communities and villages will take weeks and months.

The most urgent needs are food supplies, water, medicines, clothing, mosquito nets and most importantly mental support.

Following are some of the organizations currently working day and night to provide much needed supplies for the most affected people through public donations.

Pallel area, Chandel:

    3. Theimongkung village: 54 houses
    Number of people: 175
    4. Thongwama village: 5 houses

While the flood affected people at Thoubal District is not officially available, however the number are speculated to be in thousands with few hundred are still living at relief camps located at four to five locations mainly at Kakching area.
