RPL Certification Ceremony at TRIPURA under PMKVY Scheme Organised by CHANU CREATIONS, Thangmeiband

25th June 2017 , Imphal : ‘‘Handloom weaving is the traditional craft of Manipur and North Eastern Region of India’’. The North-Eastern States accounts for the highest concentration of handlooms in the country. Northeast refers to the easternmost region of India which is linguistically and culturally very distinct from the other states of India. The physical setting, climate, flora and fauna, population and settlements are responsible for the uniqueness of textiles when compare with those woven textiles by the other states of the country. The handloom sector is not only our past glory but also it plays a vital role even in the contest of present Indian economy. Thus, Handlooms Deserve a Place of Pride in the Textile Industry.

Under the leadership of Smt. Chirom Indira, Chanu Creations has been working for the development of handloom sector in the region last many years. Promoting and propagating our handloom products to the national and international markets. Her hard work moving towards the fruitfulness tomorrow’sgeneration with a new identity especially in handloom sector. It is truly gratifying that their (Chanu Creations) efforts are bringing smiles to thousands of people. The contribution of Chanu Creations in the handloom sector are highly remarkable. They have always maintained a very positive and friendly attitude towards all the section of peoples.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) had launched Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) in the year 2015. The objective of this Skill Certification scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevent skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) component of the Scheme. RPL mainly focuses on the individuals engaged in unregulated sectors.

Under this Scheme, as RPL Facilitator, Chanu Creations has been provided skill training to 7130 weavers in Manipur and 1098 weavers in Tripura. Textile Sector Skill Council (TSC) was the Project Implementing Agency (PIA) under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) of the said project.

Chanu Creations, Thangmeiband was Organized RPL-Certificate Distribution Ceremony to the successful candidates of Tripura on Dated 24th May, 2017 (Wedenesday). Mr. W. Joyshankar Luwang (Project Manager of Chanu Creations), Mr. Ranjit Saha (Panchayet Samati, Dukli, West Tripura) and Raghunat Singh (Uppa Pradhan, Choumani Bazar Panchayet) was grace the function as President, Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.  Smt. Chirom Indira was also present at the function.
