HealthCity, Langol, February 18, 2016: A one day free varicose veins screening camp cum free OPD consultation with Dr. Lukram Sidartha, Consultant Cardio-Thoracic & Vascular Surgeon, was held today at Shija Hospitals. Altogether 34 patients were registered for the camp out of which 25 patients were detected with varicose veins (enlarged and twisted blood vessels on the legs). The detected patients have been lined up to undergo ultrasound guided Laser treatment. The most scientific and most patient friendly Laser treatment for varicose veins has been introduced by the Department of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Sciences, Shija Hospitals for the first time in North Eastern India. The advantages of Laser treatment include no cutting, no stitching thereby making it painless and scarless. The patients can walk immediately after the procedure, no hospitalization is required and the patients can resume normal duty after 48 hours.
