Wangkhei Model High School was the only government school to have secured position in the HSLC exam 2014. Th. Sayalumi stood 17th Position and Katherine Y clinched the 20th position.
A total of 19 students scored letter marks, 9 students in Manipuri subject, 6 students in English, while 16 in Mathematics, 8 students in Science, 7 in Social Science.
There were 29 first divisions, and 12 second divisions. None of the students have failed.
Manipur Times visited the teaching staff of the School few days back for the second time since the schools good performance of producing 30 first divisions among 32 regular candidates and 6 external candidates last year.
Like previous year the dedicated teachers have organize study camp for students appearing matric exam during winter vacation after the school exam. It went on for two months at free of cost. Students use to study together and asked the teachers when they have doubt. Regular tests were conducted during the study camp. Teachers were available on rotations throughout the study camps. December and January month was totally engaged and the students were also taught the exam techniques. Regular tests gave them confidence and the students have excelled well this time too.
During the study camp refreshments were also provided free of costs. The hard work, determination and dedication from the school is immensely overwhelming. Yet the teachers are committed and they are planning to continue the trend setting performance.
