Chaoba opens Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat campaign at Utou

Utlou, Nov 18: Continuing the campaign on the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a five-day photo exhibition on the theme ‘Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat’ was set into motion Tuesday at the Indoor Stadium, SAI, Utlou in Bishnupur District of Manipur. The campaign which would continue till November 22 is being organized by the Field Exhibition Office, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal in collaboration with Youth Social Welfare Association, Utlou.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Thounaojam Chaoba Singh, Former Union Minister and President of BJP, Manipur Pradesh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken up many developmental projects for the people. Highlighting some of the schemes initiated by PM Modi, Chaoba Singh mentioned the initiative of the central government in launching the ambitious Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), which he said would benefit the poor in many ways.  He further added that this beautiful scheme where one can open bank account with zero balance is really a bold step initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and a record number of bank  accounts have been open till date. ‘The popularity of Prime Minster Narendra Modi can be known from his recent visit to Australia, where thousands of people line up to welcome him’, he said. Chaoba Singh said that Prime Minister Modi is strongly against corruption and drew similarities with him to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

Inspired by the photos on displayed, Chaoba Singh appealed the public to visit the exhibition. He underlined the fact that the photo exhibition gives the right information to understand the policies and programs of the government.

Delivering the key-note address, Dr Gin Gangte, IIS, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Imphal said the campaign is to disseminate information about the various developmental schemes initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Field Exhibition Officer further added that the central government has taken up various developmental projects for the welfare of the public. These development schemes are meant for the public welfare and not for individual, said the Field Exhibition Officer and encourage the public to approach the appropriate implementing agencies if these schemes does not reach to them. Dr Gangte also appealed to the public to visit the exhibition so as to have a better understanding of the programs and policies of the central government.

The inaugural program was also attended by Keisham Premjit Singh, Member, Ward No 2, Utlou Gram Panchayat, Longjam Ingocha Singh, Social Worker, besides many others.

Altogether, 37 exhibition panels are being put up for display. The exhibition will open for public from 10am till 3pm daily during the campaign.
