HealthCity, Langol, January 14, 2016: Mrs. Manhauvung @ Maman, a mother of 3 and 39 years old from New Lamka, CC Pur, who was diagnosed with “papillary cancer of thyroid associated with grave’s disease of the thyroid”, underwent successful surgery at Shija Hospitals on 13-01-16. The difficult and rare surgery was performed by a team of doctors led by Dr. Ajit Lukram, Consultant Shija Breast and Thyroid Clinic. Papillary cancer and grave’s disease are both common diseases encountered but a patient presenting with both entities made the treatment a difficult situation. Although the lady was found to have thyroid cancer 2 years ago, she remained without treatment due to her uncontrolled hyperthyroid state. When she finally visited Shija Breast and Thyroid Clinic in November 2015, Dr. Ajit Lukram started preparing her for the surgery with medications. After the surgery which involved total removal of her thyroid glands, Mrs. Maman is recovering quickly and states that she is really lucky to get a new lease of life. Her relatives and all members of her family state further that they had previously lost all hope due to the cancer which was not treated and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ajit Lukram and all the supporting staff of Shija Hospitals.
