FBM and NECEER Initiative – Nurture Green, Tree Plantation Drive – Day 3

As part of the 4-days Nurture Green Initiative from “For Better Tomorrow” (FBM), a voluntary forum and NECEER, Imphal, an environmental non-profit organisation in association with Voice Club and Naharol Leisamba Club, a tree plantation and awareness programme was organized on 6th July 2013 at Wangkhei High School, Wangkhei and Haoreibi Junior School, Haoreibi. Students from both the schools enthusiastically participated the awareness program and planted the trees in their school campus.  

 

Nurture Green, a four days event to create awareness on the importance of green spaces, environmental consciousness among public and tree plantation drive in schools and Langol Hill Range took off today with a social service to clean up Patriotic Complex at Cheirao Ching, Thangmeiband. Today’s event started at around 7 am with an objective to clean up half of the complex. Volunteers belonging to different walks of life took part in the social service. Plastic wastes were collected and grasses were trimmed.The members of local club and other local people encouraged the efforts by lending support, help and advice. The volunteers will meet again at Patriotic Complex on the concluding day of the 4 days event to clean up the other half along with the plantation of some indigenous trees. Today’s event was organised by “For Better Tomorrow” (FBM), a voluntary forum and NECEER, Imphal, an environmental non-profit organisation in association with Voice Club and Naharol Leishemba Club, Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai. The organizers hope more volunteers will join in the next remaining three days of the event. A tree plantation programme and awareness programme will be organiz

ed on 5th July 2013, Master Sankey English School, and Brahmapur Junior High School, Brahmapur Nahabam Leikai. A painting competition is also planned for students studying in Brahmapur Junior High School. On 6th July, tree plantation programme will continue at Wangkhei High School, Wangkhei and Haoreibi Junior School, Haoreibi. The organizers are requesting the general public to support the NUTURE GREEN and help in bringing some changes to our surrounding environment.
