Imphal, January, 12: As celebrated for the last many years, traditional worship of Imoinu, believed to be the Deity of wealth among the Meetei ethnic, was widely performed across the state with much fanfare.
Traditional Emoinu worship, a yearly festival falls on Wakchingi Tarainithoini Panba of Meitei lunar calendar. Supplicating to Goddess Emoinu with vegetables, fruits,and sweets, Lighting of candles, colourful lights along the streets of greater Imphal and valley districts during night marked the festival in the state.
All the Meitei households in the state are kept neat and clean when this yearly festival comes.
