30th December 2017, Imphal: Lucifer-X, the Imphal based thrash metal band, has released their debut EP at Manipur Press Club on 30th December 2017.

Lucifer-X was formed in December 12, 2012. Spanning a career as a metal musician for 5 years with no adequate promotion and financial backings, the band was unable to record and release their own materials. But with an uncompromising resolution and a firm determination, Lucifer-X has released their first EP (Extended Play) titled, “PROJECT XTERMINATION”, consisting of five songs. It is a self release, with no connection with any record label. All was done independently.

The band’s current lineup comprises guitarist Chand Khomdram, vocalist Lamjingba Wangkhem, drummer Aagoo Takhelchangbam, and bassist Birjit Kangjam. In the 5 years since its inception, Lucifer-X has had many lineup changes, and Lamjingba, Aagoo and Birjit has been the only constant member.

Speaking to the media persons at Manipur Press Club, Birjit Kangjam said, “Our songs talk about the socio causes, political agendas and also about the current issues of Manipur.”

Aagoo  Takhelchangbam said, “We take this release as the first step towards success for the band. We have been planning to this from Day 1 since the formation of the band. And as this really is not the end of the band, we are further planning to start writing new materials from the beginning of 2018. We will try our best to help spreading Thrash Metal and promote the local Metal Scene in Manipur”.

“We thank all the media persons who came for this Press Conference and all our friends and fan for all the support over the years.”,  Lamjingba Wangkhem said.

Guitarist Chand Khomdram said, “We want the metal bands to do something as a contribution to the metal scene and make it a bigger one. We want the parents of the youth in Manipur who have a passion in the field of music to encourage them with no hesitation.”

Johnny Konjengbam, who did the artwork of the said EP and managed the band in many ways said, “It’s not only about Lucifer-X, but I would definitely love to help every bands and also Manipur Metal Scene as a whole just to make it a better one. I consider my efforts of designing a band’s logo or an artwork as a contribution to the scene. And I would like to thank every persons or bands who have appreciated and supported my works so far.”
