Manipur Flood 2015 is the worst ever flood in the history of Manipur. Flood affected people are living on the high rise roads with tents (pak-khan) and relief camps. They need food, water, medicine supplies. They need “Helping Hands”.
Every small contributions can save lives of many flood affected people of Manipur. This is urgent and people are starving and have no drinking water at several villages of Manipur.

We have five senior advisers who are advising and coordinating our efforts on daily basis.
How we have started
We were following flood of Manipur specially in and around Kakching since July 30, 2015. Through our lens, we have capture many flood affected places and reported them through our personal walls on facebook.
On August 7, 2015, we were relatively free from work but our mind were not free and worrying and wondering how we can help those flood affected people that we have seen while we were moving around covering Manipur floods through our lens. Recollecting the memories of the past several days were kind of painful experience for us and we wanted to help the needy people to the level we could. We don’t know how. But we were talking to our senior colleges who have many years social volunteers experiences.
Through their advice, we decided to float “Helping Hands, Manipur” with a limited fund we have. As soon as we took our decision, we started talking to some of the people in our facebook friend network, we started to get some funds too.
This encourage us to set our Aims and Objective and identify area of operation etc. Our primary focus will be on First hand visit & Rapid need assessment of disaster area of Manipur and Basic relief support for the immediate needs.
Another area of focus will be local pond water treatment so that it can provide much need clean water for daily usage or else we could feel that many could suffer from water borne diseases.
Thanks to our friends who liked images and and supported our volunteering works. Thanks to our friends who joined us to make this journey moving forward – Extending Helping Hands to needy people at the time of disaster is our primary mission.
