REDYMENAN YUMNAM, an emerging film actor of Manipur movie has been awarded the “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Award” in the category of Upcoming Actors by the Dalit Sahitya Academy, Manipur in recognition of the commendable achievement in the field of Literary, Sports, Art & Culture, Theater & Social Services rendered for the upliftment of Downtrodden, Oppresses & Depressed people of country in “1st Asian Conference of Dalit Sahitya, 2014” held on 8th and 9th March at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Manipur (India).
Before entering to film world, Redymenan had already bagged a title of best traditional model in the recently concluded Mr North East competition held at ITA complex Guwahati. His career as a model started during his college days at Bangalore where he walked the ramp in a college event. When he came back to Imphal he decided to participate in Man Hunt Contest of MANFETE 2013 and took the guide from Designer Sailex who guided him on Ramp walk. Luckily he clinched the Mr. Man Hunt 2013 Title in MANFETE 2013 organized by MIMS, Manipur University.
He is the son of Yumnam Rajendro and Yumnam (ongbi) Bala Devi from Konthoujam. Career wise he is aspiring to become an army officer.
