State BMX Riders leaves for Red Bull Under My Wings course. Two BMX riders from Manipur who got selected for attending a 3 day workshop by world class BMX Rider Uchhie at Pune under the sponsorship of Red Bulls were flagged of by Ajit Pal Singh O.C of 40 Assam Rifles, Andro Post yesterday. The flag off ceremony was held at 40 Assam Rifles Post. The two boys who got selected for the prestigious course are Mayanglambam Gupta and Ronex Khundrakpam. Ronex however will not be participating the workshop as he fractured his collar bone while practice riding BMX few days back. Only 8 riders are being selected from the whole nation for the course. Some details of the workshop are as below :- Red Bull Under My Wings – BMX Flatland Workshop By Yohei Uchino (Uchhie) From 10th – 12th June in Pune. The Workshop: The workshop will be an intensive 3-day event where 8 chosen participants will get to showcase, learn and perform with Uchhie himself. Day 1: Uchhie will conduct a hand-holding session with Indian BMX bikers where he will discuss their techniques and teach them some new ones. Day 2: Uchhie will conduct a master-class with the BMX bikers by showcasing his skills. Day 3: A finale showcase will be performed by the participants with Uchhie. About Uchhie: Uchhie is one of the most well-known Japanese BMX flatland riders in the world. His original trick, the Uchhie spin came into fashion in 2003 and was widely influential over riders across the world. He was rewarded the title of the first Japanese world champion of the “VOO DOO JAM”, the World Championship held at New Orleans, US in 2008.
