Imphal, May 31 : Even as Children reading in Government schools are exempted from all kinds of fees besides providing them free Textbooks, Uniforms and mid-day meal under RTE act, Parents are still sending their children to private schools with investing huge amount. It is a matter of surprise, said Education Minister M. Okendro.
Education Minister M. Okendro was speaking as chief guest in the 20th annual prize distribution function conducted by the council of higher secondary education Manipur held at JN Manipur dance academy, Imphal today.
Of the many students who received awards on various category. Manipur Times is sharing the lists of three toppers each in the stream of Arts, Science and Commerce.

1) Arts stream – Council Gold Medal and Cash Award – Kangjam Prashna Kumar Singh of Enlighten Knowledge Hr. Sec. School, Sangakpham from Uripok Takhellambam Leikai. He is the son of Sanasam Geetabali and K Radhakumar. Marks secured – 446.
2) Science Stream – Keisham Tampha Ibema of Herbert School, Canchipur, Airport Road Imphal from Awang Leikinthabi Makha Leikai . He is the daughter of Keisham Ongbi W.Ibella and Keisham Ibobi. Marks secured – 474.
3) Commerce – N Kaikho of Don Bosco Hr. Sec School (Arts & Commerce), Maram from Shajouba Village, P.O. Tadubi, Senapati District. He is the son of Nikhini. Marks secured – 403.
