We have always heard that Sports and Books cannot go hand in hand. One should choose one or the another. The combination is impossible and should not be even attempted. Sports continues to be a career for those children whose parents cannot afford to send their children to school – both private or government. We have parents who believe that Sports cannot be a career and there is a rat race around Medicine and Engineering or any other career that has to with books and more books. Have you heard the saying “A healthy mind in a healthy body”. What is the use of having an Albert Einstein’s mind when you are suffering from low BP and anemia? What is the use of all the achievements in Academics when you fall sick at the drop of a hat. Sports if not a career should become part & partial of our lives. It teaches us discipline, makes us a team player, leadership skills and above all it is fun to play a game we like. So close your books every other day and spend at least two hours in the field playing your favourite game.
We are glad to announce the Sports Brand Ambassador of our Alumni – Thangjam Sashikanta. He is from 2013 batch and currently studying Class XI in Spicer Memorial College. He is from Khurai Thangjam Leikai and studied from nursery in our school. Playing Soccer has been his childhood passion and he has always wanted to fulfill his dream of making it a career. Early days, his family members did not support him. He was known to Sir Daniel as one of the naughtiest in the classroom. Today he is proud of himself as he ventures into his career all over again.
