AMUCO observes 17th Manipur Integrity Day

Imphal, August 4: Recalling the historic mass rally on August 4, 1997, All Manipur United Cubs Organisation, AMUCO observed 17thManipur Integrity day at MDU Imphal.

As part of the event, people of the state offered floral tribute to the ntegrity pillar located at Imphal Pologround.

The main function of the historic day held at MDU hall was attended by leaders of various civil cociety organizations including Dr. Y. Mani, president AMUCO, Th. Iboyaima, Chief Advisor, AMUCO, Y. Maipak Chothe, Chothe Tribe Union, Manipur, Dh. Gaikhenmei, Chairman, ZU-ANM, S. Jamkholu, President, Thadou Tribe Union, K. Yaima Maring, president, EDHAPCO, Areng Zatak Chiru, President, Chiru Tribe, Union, Amang Serto, President, Komrem Union, Advocate Dolaipham Shahid Ahamad, President AMMDO, RL Maki Poume, executive member, Poumei Colony, L. Memchoubi, president, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba, Manipur, Prof. Rose Mangse Haokip, president Kuki woman Union, Kakomlungiu, president Kabui Mother Union, LB Shanga Hmar Inpui, Manipur and KT Rahman, Advisor AMUCO.

Speaking to the gathering Dr. Y. Mani, President AMUCO said that Government of India and NSCN(IM) umpteen times manage to shatter the emotional integrity between the hill and valley settling together in the soil of the state since time immemorial. Nevertheless the unity of the state cannot be shattered despite disturbances from various outside forces.

Stating that the effort of Nagaland Government to encroach boundary of the state is an obstacle to the development pace of hill and valley, he said that the demand of forming eastern Nagalnd in the state itself by the big communities like Aao, Anggami, Sema, is not for equal development of all communities settling in the state. Some Nagas in Manipur despite knowing this fact are trying to form anti-Manipuri policy under a hidden political agenda.
