Irom Chanu Sharmila hands over 80 books to State Library today at J.N Hospital attended by SP Jail and staff of State Library. The collection was given to her by her supporter from various corner of the world. The book title ‘Dead Soul was given to her by her beloved expressed Irom Chanu Sharmila.
In the handover function she said that she felt happy as people would read the books donated to the library. In the past Manipur has witness burning down of library and the culture of reading book in the library should be promoted express Sharmila who has been fasting since the last 12 years.
She will also be donating some of the books to the recently open library at Central Jail Sajiwa.
Sharmila read a poem written by her on the recent issue of taking over the king’s palace by Manipur Government.
She also express that she is not fighting for fame and whomsoever campaigning for her Nobel Prize should participate her cause with responsibility instead of the campaign for recognition or Medal.
She also condemned some people who email her claiming her cause as a mere joke and misleading the public and drawing unnecessary attention by fasting.
