“This was an attempt to integrate the residents from northeast into voting process. This is an attempt to reach out and facilitate registration for our friend from northeastern states. For instance, student sometimes find it difficult to get their landlords to verify their address proof. In such cases, it has been decided that the various state centers in Delhi like Arunachal Bhavan, Sikim bhavan will step in,’’ said Vijay Dev, chief electoral officer. NE community leader said that this sends out a very strong message that in spite of the travails undergone by north- easterners, we are still part of the society in a constructive manner. This aspect need to be highlighted. Next such camp, we must aim for registering at least 40000 plus we are mobilizing in a better way to reach out to all our fellow northeast folks.
