Toll free telephone service to address public complain regarding PDS items opened up – Director, CAF & PD

Thirty two meritorious students including one students who have cleared NEET 2013 of keirao bitra have been conferred with 1st NNPDC meritorious award 2013 at a grand function held at keirao  Nongpok Ningthou panthoibi community hall on Sunday last.

The function was organised by the Nongpok Ningthou panthoibi development committee, an apex body of keirao bitra.

K. Tombi singh, Adhaksha, Imphal east graced the function as chief guest while T. Joy Meetei, president, NNPDC, keirao, Mutum Yaiskul Meetei, Addl. Secretary(Home) cum Director, CAF & PD, Government of Manipur, Salam Kunjakeshore, SDO, Henglep, T. Inaobi Singh, OC of Irilbung police station, and Mutum Romeshchandra, Pradhan Keirao GP graced the gathering as President and guest of honour respectively. Four ward members of Keirao GP namely L. Naobi, N. Lata, L. Ajon and T. Sushilla and T. Ibohal, Retd. Asst teacher (Donor) and H. Lokendro (Donor) graced the function as special Guests.

About 19 students of Keirao bitra who got first division and 13 students getting second and third division in  the HSLC and HSE exam 2013 conducted by the BSEM, COHSEM and CBSE were feted out with cash prize, certificates and exercise books.

Speaking on the occasion, Mutum Yaiskul Director CAF & PD said that his department has opened up a toll free telephone service at the Directorate office of CAF & PD  located Sangaiprou to address the public complaint regarding unavailability of PDS items such as Rice, Sugar and  SK Kerosene oil etc. An official who will sit near the telephone receiver will accept every public complaints and the department will take action at once according to the complaint. Moreover, Government is all set to set up a separate court to hear cases regarding PDS problems.

PDS items are made available to public every month through allocation orders. The PDS Agents and the SK oil Agents receive monthly allocation of PDS items after they submit necessary Utilisation certificates countersigned by the local Pradhans or member to the District supply officers. If any Agents happen to cheat the people or misuse the PDS items meant for general public, complaint should be filed with the DC concerned immediately so that the DC can take up action against them, said the director.

He appealed the students to work hard to achieve in life.” Life is struggle and we must face all the challenges that may come on the way to achievement of life” He added.
