Ratna Fruit is being showcased in stall no P-213 of Manipur Industrial Expo 2016.
With a commendable annual production capacity of processed fruit and beverage products, M/S Ratna Fruit, a small scale fruit processing unit, can be mentioned among the success Agro based Industries in Manipur. Earlier the manufacturing unit of M/S Ratna Fruit was located at Uripok Polem Leikai, Imphal West. Now it has been shifted to Takyel Industrial estate.
The company was established in the year 1989 as SSI Unit by one Longjam Sharatchandra (54) of Uripok Polem Leikai and it is manufacturing a wide array of ready to serve squash and beverage products which includes Orange, Lemon, Pineapple, Lichi and Passion fruit etc.
The company collects fresh oranges mainly from Tamenglong while Lemons from Kachai in Ukhrul district of Manipur. Pineapple is procured from Moirang and Churachandpur areas. With the motto ‘a new venture in agro-horticulture sector’, the company visualizes a developed and industrialized Manipur by exploiting the vast raw materials of agro-horticultural products locally available in plenty.
“The state endowed with varied natural resources have high prospect of business growth in agro and horticultural products. The economy of the state can be strengthened as and when the Government focuses more on developing agro and horticulture based industries, apart from creating more employment opportunities”, said Ratana Devi, who is betterhalf of Shartchandra.
On hardships being faced by local entrepreneurs, she said that Bandh and blockades, erratic power supplies are the main hindrance the budding local entrepreneurs use to face while carrying out hes business. When production ceases and workers off the work, entrepreneurs suffer loss in business.
