Blood donated on EDAHPCO’s birth day

Imphal, June 10: Volunteers of Educational development and health and promotion council, EDAHPCO, Keirao Kendra in collaboration with JNIMS blood bank donated blood in oneday voluntary blood donation camp held at Langdum high school ground.

The blood donation camp was organized with regard to the third foundation day of the council. At least, 150 volunteers gave their blood during the camp.

Local MLA Karam Thamarjit also attended the camp.

Heirom Damendra, General Secretary,  EDAHPCO said that the blood collected during the course of the camp will be deposited in JNIMS blood bank and will be used for life saving purposes for the needy like accident victims, premature babies and patients undergoing major surgery.

 

EDAHPCO is a non-profit organization working for improving education, health and other social sectors. Considering the need for blood during life saving, the volunteers resolved to hold such blood donation camp instead of holding public function with much fanfare with regard to its foundation day. Most of hospitals in the state are facing shortage of blood, which is so important for life saving. The blood our volunteers donate today will be instrumental in making up the shortage while saving life for many, added Damendra.
