Miss Shyed Reshma Shahni and M. Bushra reading in class nine standard at Brighter academy demonstrates their newly developed scientific model Wood stove cum household incineration which can be used for cooking purposes and helps prevent environmental pollution through proper utilization of solid waste materials at the ongoing science model exhibition with regard to science meet 214 organised by Manipur science and technology council, MASTEC held at the Manipur science aquarium DM college campus.

The model comprises a Combustion chamber, Ash remover, wire mess, one battery, Inlet fan, Tripod stand and so on. The model is developed with an aim to save environmental pollution due to improper throwing away of solid waste materials as well as taking out useful resources from the solid waste. Solid waste are kept inside the combustion chamber to incinerate. The inlet fan fixed aside the chamber works to supply oxygen for increasing combustion level as well as reducing emission level of carbondioxide from the combustion chamber, said the students.

They further maintained that the state is facing problems of improper management of solid waste materials. We see huge solid wastes lying in and around the municipal areas, rivers like Nambul river full of solid wastes which is a menace to human health and environment. Installation of such wood stove cum household incineration in the state will be helpful not only in preventing environmental pollution but also in saving money from buying LPG gas for cooking purposes, they said, adding that It takes five to seven minutes only while boiling water.

Under the guidance of their teacher Mr. Sanjoy, they developed the device. It took almost three days o complete the model for showcasing in the exhibition.
