Imphal, May 10, 2017 : The State Cabinet today has decided to give an ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs each to the next of kin of the two personnel who were killed and Rs. 50 thousand each to the injured two personnel of the Territorial Army in the bomb attack by suspected militants near Lokchao in Tengnoupal District on 8th of this month.
The decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister shri N. Biren Singh held in the Cabinet Hall of Chief Minister’s Secretariat today.
The Cabinet approved the proposal for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of Manipur and M/s. India Foundation to prepare “Strategic vision for Manipur in the Act East policy of India”. M/s. India Foundation is a New Delhi based independent research centre which focuses on the issues, challenges and opportunities of the Indian polity. The MOU pertains with the seeking of professional services of the Foundation in helping the State develop and formulate the Strategic Vision for the benefit of the State Government under the broad objectives of Government of India’s ‘Act East Policy’.
In view of keeping adequate stock of urea fertilizer in the State , the Cabinet also approved the proposal for transportation of 1(one) Rake of Urea fertilizer from Dimapur to Imphal Departmentally by the State Agriculture Department.
In another decision, the Cabinet had given its nod for transfer of the Drawing and Disbursing Authority from the Pension Disbursing Officer to the High Court of Manipur in case of extending post-retiral benefits to the retired Chief Justice(s) and retired Judge(s) of the High Court of Manipur and the erstwhile common Gauhati High Court.
The cabinet further approved the Compassionate appointment of Usham Gojen Singh( tanker driver) who is physically disabled because of injury inflicted in discharging duty during economic blockade in the Consumer Affairs Food & public Distribution Deptt. (DIPR)
