EDUCATION MINISTER INSTRUCTS TO INAUGURATE RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL SHANGSHAK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Imphal, September 6, 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Shri Thokchom Radheshyam Singh urged the concern authorities of the Ukhrul District to inaugurate the Residential School, Shangshak as soon as possible while inspecting the school. The residential school has total seat capacity of 100, half each boys and girls.

Met by the MLA, Ukhrul Shri Alfred Kanngam Arthur, Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul Dr. Harmit Singh Pahuja and locals who are the members of School Management and Development Committee (SDMC), Education Minister instructed them to inaugurate the residential school as soon as possible in the interest of people of Shangshak. He also told them to procure the required infrastructure needs giving first priority to start the functioning of the school as early as possible.

He was at Ukhrul District to inaugurate the Edufest 2017, the State Level Inter – School Competition from 6 – 8 of September as Chief Guest with the Principal Secretary Education (S) Shri Vineet Joshi and Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul Dr. Harmit Singh Pahuja as Guest of Honour and Special Guest respectively at the Town Hall, Ukhrul.

Th. Radheshyam said the youths should dream big to achieve the highest goal in their life. The future pillars should learn to overcome problems encountered in their lives to understand life in a meaningful way so that they could become the solution a source for joy, happiness and a helping hand for those in need.

The fest organised by North East Foundation For Education and Culture in collaboration with for Education & Environment (for ED&EN) and Manipur Education Society (MES) highlighting their achievements said that each year ten students are selected as super 10 to be funded for their education through scholarships. The minister announced to select five additional students whom he said he will sponsor. He said such venture need to spread to other parts of the state also.

Vineet Joshi said changes are taking very fast in the world and everyone should try to catch up with the pace otherwise will be left out. He also said that every child is unique and the teachers and elders should try to bring out their hidden talents.

15 schools from different parts of the state participated in the fest. The fest was attended by teachers, students and locals. (DIPR)
