Imphal, May 27, 2017, (DIPR): Minister Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal husbandry Shri V. Hangkhanlian inaugurated Sub Divisional Agriculture Office and Sub Deputy Collector Office located at Salam Mamang Leikai, Imphal West, today. The inaugural function was organised by Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur. The main aim of opening the offices is to solve the problems of the people of the area.
Dedicating the two offices, the minister said that in line with the government of India, under Ministry of Agriculture policy, agricultural product would be made doubling by 2022. The two offices were today open to meet those shortages for agricultural inputs to enhance the product of agriculture sector especially for Salam and its surrounding areas. The agricultural implements and other essential items could be provided now by the government in plenty. The safety of the offices depends upon the people of the area. He appealed to farmers to work hard with zeal and sincerity so as to bring Green Revolution in Manipur.
Shri S. Rajen Singh as president of the function said with the opening of two offices now, the people would get various benefits, acquire urgent documents and materials and solve the past problems. Minister CAF & PD, Shri Karam Shyam said that Under Chief Minister policy of development and changes, all defunct government offices in hill areas also would start opening and functioning soon, for this staff would be posted for the advantage and convenience of the people. He told the staff to be punctual in attending office. Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West, Shri C. Arthur Worchuiyo, IAS said that the offices would give advantages in dealing with the officers concern and the need of cooperation for the successful functioning of the offices.
Director of Agriculture Shri Ph. Rajendra Singh said the opening of the Agriculture and SDC office give a new light to the people, now documents and material would be easily available through these offices. According to the need of the time, the people would get their necessity without going a long distance and appreciates the step taken up by the government.
The inaugural function was attended by Minister CAF&PD, Shri Karam Shyam Singh, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Shri S. Rajen Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, Shri C. Arthur Worchuiyo, IAS and Director of Agriculture, Shri Ph. Rajendra Singh as president and guests of honour respectively. Officials and staffs of Agriculture department, members of Lamsang Mandal and the villagers were also present at the inaugural function. (DIPR)
