ASHA E-CONNECT’ INITIATED IN THE STATE

IMPHAL, 25th APRIL, 2017 (DIPR):- As a part of Digital India Mission, the Governor of Manipur Dr. Najma A Heptulla initiated the ‘ASHA E-CONNECT’, a Tele Medical Service Scheme today at Raj Bhavan, Imphal.

On the occasion, State Health Minister Shri L. Jayentakumar Singh and Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam Singh were also attended.

Participating the function, Medical Expert of the mission Padma Shree Dr. Ashok Gupta explained about the benefits of the scheme. He said the new scheme will provide health care facilities especially to the rural people who are at the outreach without medical facilities. ASHA volunteers will be trained to take care of outreached people with the help of mobile phone which will enable doctors to check the status of patients particularly through mobile gadgets, he added.

State Family Welfare Services Director Dr. K. Rajo Singh gave a power-point presentation on ‘Flying Doctors in Manipur’. He also mentioned about the need of Mobile Helicopter service in the state.

A booklet and a CD Cassette containing the details of the scheme was also released at the function.

Officials from Health and Family Welfare Department and Medical experts were among the participants of the programme.
