Imphal, 22nd May 2017 (DIPR): Health Minister Shri L. Jayanta Kumar along with Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam today inspected schools in Keishamthong constituency. The inspected schools were the Haobam Marak H. A. High School and The Ngasi Rastralipi High School.
Health and education are two components for development of a society. Education aims for nurturing human values and knowledge and at the same time good health brings calm mind, inner strength and self-confidence, said the Education Minister in the visit.
Both the ministers heard the grievances of teachers and locals pertaining to the issues being faced by them. The problems are related with shortage of infrastructure and deterioration of students.
Education Minister said that there are certain problems and issues related to the school teachers and he will try his best to solve them. But for an educational institution, he said, students are the soul and their problems are the main concerned and the teachers should try their best to understand them, bringing it up to the concerned authority so that the issues could be addressed and solved in the right time. On the need of motivating and encouraging the teachers to bring a positive change in the education system, he said a brainstorming session will be organised for them as soon as possible in a suitable school.
Though the numbers of students are very low, the teachers of The Ngasi Rastralipi High School taking initiation provided van service for the students. Unfortunately some rooms of the school were found occupied by a student organisation as their office. The minister expressing dissatisfaction said, such act is not acceptable and the organisation should have taken prior permission from the concern department.
On demand for abolition of schools, Shri Radhyeshyam stated that schools are like temples where the children are getting knowledge for their future. To abolish a school will not be a right choice, instead development of the schools should be encouraged for their future course of life and for the generations to come, he said. To the people, he urged to come together and to try to restore back the fame of government schools which has been the core for spreading education in olden days.
The addresses of the public as has been heard, L. Jayanta Kumar said, nothing can be done on demand of the public or any authority without consideration. Thus, he told the issues will be discussed on all levels by the government and even with the people to carry out the needful. (DIPR)
