EDUCATION MINISTER INAUGURATES ATAL TINKERING LAB OF HERBERT SCHOOL

Imphal, October 3, 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Shri Thokchom Radheshyam Singh today inaugurated the Atal Tinkering Lab & LEGO Carnival of Herbert School at Changangei, Imphal. He said that learning is seeing and the newly inaugurated laboratory is where the hands of the students will trained to learn.

He said education is not just to get good marks but to live a meaningful live by training one capable to face any problems or obstacle that comes in life and let others lead a good life too. The teachers, parents and guardians should mentor and guide the young minds to become good leaders. He said the Atal Tinkering Lab & LEGO Carnival in itself is to train and innovate the next generation to be a solution giver rather than become part of the problem.

The Minister explained to the students that they were now in a very important stage of life being in the higher secondary. He said, the future lies in their hands and they have to learn to make the right choice through right decisions. The world is moving very fast with many things need to learn and catch up with just twenty four hours in hand. He said while learning they should try to learn things that will be relevant to the society and to their life.

Atal Tinkering Laboratories is a scheme with a vision to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators’, under Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) including Self-Employment and Talent Utilization (SETU) of NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), Government of India’s endeavour to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Various schools of Manipur from both government and private schools are being selected for the scheme.

National Institute of Electronics Informations Technolohgy, Imphal, Executive director, Shri Th. Prameshor Singh who graced the function as the Guest of Honour said the students need to learn to identify their dream and goal to achieve it. He also warned the students to be careful while using internet and told them to make the best use of library, radio and newspaper.
