FAMILY IS THE FIRST AND FOREMOST SEED OF EDUCATION: TH. RADHESHYAM

Imphal, 24th May 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Shri Th. Radheshyam said the first and foremost seed of education starts from the family. The building up of a human character, to obey and respect the elders, gearing up for self confidence and to learn to work in team starts from home, he added. He was speaking as Chief Guest on the 12th Foundation Day of the Mega Manipur School, Yaralpat.

Overall development of the students, he said, is a holistic approached to make them a catalyst for a positive change in positive direction for a society. They should, also, be encouraged for more participation in the competition of extra curriculum activities. On the importance of organizing several competitions in all fields so as to increase their confidence level and make them proactive to be ready to face any uncertainty they will face in life, which will mould them into a leader, and a better human.

Education is not the only means but what is required to be a successful man is the overall development of the children leading them towards the right direction, he said. Life, he said, is very short but has many hurdles, filled with unpredictable situations. Thus to be able to face all these issues and problems in life one need to learn and be prepare to face them with right decision and with the ability to solved problems, he added.

But sometimes parents, he said, feels that admitting their child in one of the best school will make the child a fine man, which is not so. He said therefore there is a need to have strong bonding between the parents and the children and between the teachers and students also. Then will only the elders be able to provide the best to the children, nurturing them for better future, he added. (DIPR)

In the celebration, Parliamentary Secretary, Home, L. Shushindro (Yaima), Retd. IAS RK Nimai Singh, BOG of Mega Manipur, teachers, parents and students were also present. Prizes to the students who had won several competitions were also distributed.

  1. “To obey and respect”! And if that was true then our education minister would not treat the way he did to the teachers in front of their respective students inside the classroom during his school visit. It would be the best if use the school staff room and call the staffs and discuss or ask anything so that it wont effect the feelings of the students.. It is really a good step in order to improve the teaching learning process that our education minister visiting the schools , meeting the teachers and students. Hope that the quality of education is better in the near future.. Meanwhile “Let us not break the beautiful bonding of teacher and student”…
