MERITORIOUS STUDENTS OF SADAR HILLS FELICITATED IMPROVING STUDENTS ALSO NEED TO BE ENCOURAGED: Y. JOYKUMAR SINGH

IMPHAL, 10th June, 2017 (DIPR): Deputy Chief Minister Shri Yumnam Joykumar Singh said students which are improving from their previous stage are also to be encouraged despite encouraging meritorious students only. He was speaking at the 19th Major S. Kipgen, SM (Pagin) Foundation Meritorious Award in High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2017, Distribution Ceremony held at Emmanuel Higher Secondary School, Haipi in Kangpokpi District today.

Deputy Chief Minister said that nowadays the extent of learning process is very much different from the older days. Most of the students have relied upon tuition/coaching which are only a few in those days. He said students at any level should be encouraged so that they can challenge everything and score higher marks in the examination also.

Mentioning about to bring quality education Shri Yumnam Joykumar Singh said, three things are important while talking about quality education. Learning, Understanding and Application are the basic steps through which we can bring quality education. Students should understand what they learnt and should try to apply it so that different concepts can be developed. He lauded the students and wishes them to bring laurels in their future life.

Speaking at the function Health Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh urged the students to aim at excellence to serve people and to contribute to society. He said, social education is very much important in human lives. Despite all good career and certificates, what is important is the association with people and application of what we learnt in society, he added.

Tribal Affairs Minister Shri N. Kayisii while praising the students said, strong determination accompanying with aim are essential to get success in life. He said, students should try their best to achieve what they want as it is the best way to serve parents also. Altogether 11 toppers of Sadar Hills District were awarded in the function.

Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister attended the meritorious award distribution ceremony held at Pari Imom Sindam Sang, Lanjing where Meritorious Awards along with Gold Medal was presented to 21st Position Holder of High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2017, Kumari Konthoujam Pinki Devi and other outstanding students.

Deputy Chief Minister also inspected the Taxation Office in the erstwhile Guwahati High Court, Imphal Bench Complex in North AOC today. He inspected the ongoing renovation works in the office complex and instructed the concerned officials to complete the work by next week.(DIPR)
