Imphal, April 17, 2017 (DIPR): Commerce and Industries Minister Shri Th Biswajit inspected the Tera-Urak Industrial Estate, Bishnupur District, today, and said the units of the estate already allotted to the entrepreneurs should be made fully functional within a month.
Briefing media persons during the inspection, the Minister said altogether 60 units are to be constructed of which 27 have been already completed. He continued the required electricity will be provided to the estate at the earliest in order to make the units functional. He elaborated once electricity is provided the units should be made fully functional within a month. This will encourage the entrepreneurs and help in generating employment which is part of the government’s commitment of providing jobs to every family in the state, he observed.
Reacting to reports about some entrepreneurs being left out during allocation of units in the estate, the Minister said he can assure to expand the centre or number of sheds if required, after proper consultation with the Chief Minister and other concerned officials of the department. Minister Biswajit also directed the officials to highlight the department’s grievances and requirements to ensure that the estate is made functional within a month’s time. He said the government’s aim is to provide full cooperation to the entrepreneurs and encourage them.
The Minister was accompanied by Director of Trade, Commerce & Industries M Luikham and other officials of the department during the inspection visit. (DIPR)
