IMPHAL, OCTOBER 2, 2017 (DIPR): Shri Thounaojam Shyamkumar, Minister MAHUD, Forests and Environment, Horticulture and Soil Conservation and Town Planning said that the women should use technology wisely, mainly mobile phones, as the crime against women is on rise in the State.
Minister Th. Shyamkumar was speaking as the Chief Guest at the closing function of the three-day 2nd Manipur Catholic Women Convention, 2017 held at the Christ Jyoti School, Mantripukhri on the theme “Women in the family, church and society”.
He appreciated women that they have a special gift of patience, tolerance and will power compared to men. Since time immemorial women have occupied a high pedestal in our society and that is why the Catholic women in the State should try to bring a good change in the society, he added.
Appreciating the self-less sacrifices of those involved in running the missionary schools in Manipur, Th. Shyamkumar said that the Catholic schools in the State have a great role towards raising the standard of education system in Manipur.
The closing function was also attended by Most Rev. Dominic Lumon, DD Archbishop – Archdiocese of Imphal, Rt. Rev. Theodore Mascarenhas, SFX, Secretary General, Catholic Bishops’ Council of India, Rt. Rev. Gerald Almeida, Chairman of Justice and Peace Commission Catholic Bishops’ Council of India and Catholic women from different parts of the State. (DIPR)
