NO ONE CAN COMPETE OUR SKILLS IF WE STREAMILNE HUMAN RESOURCE: N. BIREN SINGH

Imphal, June 17, 2017 (DIPR): Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh said that we could manage to streamline the human resource of the State, no one can compete our skills and hardworking in the world. He was speaking at the felicitation programme cum distribution of machines and equipments under various schemes organised by Department of Sericulture, Government of Manipur, held today at Project Management Complex, Sagaipat, Imphal.

Appreciating the Sericulture Department for encouraging farmers and Self Help Groups, Chief Minister said that the sericulture department would be given priority by the government so that it can boost up the sericulture productivity, to provide skill development and generate employment and revenue through various sericulture schemes. He urged the officials of the department to submit a plan or blueprint to the government so that the government can provide financial assistance for the development of the department. He further said that if we invest seriously in the sericulture production, it would bring pride and laurels of the state.

Chief Minister said, “It is my promise to dedicate the remaining part of my life for the welfare of the people and the State.” He further mentioned that we need a change to bring development in the State, but that change should come up within ourselves. Appreciating people’s comment and wisdom towards the new government, he said that the new government need people’s support so that the government could bring prosperity in the region.

Highlighting the initiatives of the new government, he said that various drugs items are made available at subsidized rates in 26 State-run hospitals and 57 notified medical tests would be done free of cost and almost all the diagnosis would be made free of cost soon. He urged the people to co-operate and bear with the new government to bring some visible changes in the State.

Taking serious note on the terrorist activities occurred in the State, Shri N. Biren Singh said that the government would not compromise any situation that affects law and order of the State. Strongly condemning the recent killings at Ukhrul district, he said that FIR has been lodged and befitting punishments would be given to those perpetrators who are associated with such act of terrorism. He further said that political dialogue is the only way to bring a permanent solution to the insurgency problem.

During the function, Chief Minister announced that Wangkheimayum Shanta, a local entrepreneur, would be conferred an award for his contribution in developing sericulture reeling machine. The award would be presented to him on 15th August of this year, he added. On the occasion, Motorised Twin Charkha machines were distributed to 23 beneficiaries, Motorised Paddle Spinning mill to 10 beneficiaries, Solar Operator Spinning mill to 5 beneficiaries.

Parliamentary Secretary(Agriculture and Sericulture) Shri Awangbow Newmai, Parliamentary Secretary (Finance) Shri Th. Satyabrata Singh, Parliamentary Secretary (RD and PR) Shri H. Dingo, Secretary, Sericulture, Shri Th. Gopen and Director, Sericulture Shri S. Kunjakishore attended the function. (DIPR)
