Imphal, May 26, 2017 (DIPR): AOne Day Advocacy cum Discussion on the National Programme under NHM, Manipur with Media Fraternities under the theme “Learning Together; For a sustainable Development Goal’ was held today at Classic Hotel, North AOC, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Health and Family Welfare minister Shri L. Jeyantakumar Singh has said, Right to Life is one of the most important rights which we must protect and safeguard. Priority should be given to right to life, he added.
The minister appealed the people of the state to participate and extend co-operation to the Government at its steps for establishing a well facilitated health service in the state. Recognizing the necessity of modern health care facilities, the minister stressed about the initiative taken by the government for establishing Cancer Hospital and Mental Hospital in the state and further said they are on the pipeline. He also urges the media fraternities to bridge up a cordial relationship with the government and also give constructive suggestion to the government whenever necessary.
The programme was attended by Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare Shri P.K. Singh and Director, Health Services Shri Dr. K. Lokendro Singh as President and Guest of Honour respectively. Besides, Heads of State Health and Medical department, Medical experts and Editors and Reporters of Print and Electronic media of the state were also present at the function.
