Imphal, October 8, 2017 (DIPR): Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Revenue, Shri Karam Shyam said that, people living in conflict situation must try to achieve happiness of the soul in order to attain a peaceful and meaningful life. He was speaking during a seminar on “Happiness Forever” organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyala Imphal centre at Asha Hall, North AOC, Imphal.
Expressing sadness over the increasing crime and violence rate, the Minister said that, the world is divided along the divisive lines of race, religion, ethnicity among others. He said that money, power, achievement are not the means to attain happiness. Happiness of the soul can be attained if one succeeds in removing hatred, jealousy and other negative aspects from his/her life.
Stating that the life of a politician is full of pressure and challenges, Minister Karam Shyam said that, the endeavour to serve the people and the attempt to change the wrongs in the system helps in accomplishing happiness of the soul. Determination to do something good for the society is a fulfilling experience, he added.
Speaking during the seminar, special guest Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Kamlesh, Senior Rajyoga Teacher, Mumbai said that, happiness is not based on external tools. Terming happiness as a feeling she said that, no one is born happy but with the ability to be happy. Some of the tools for happiness are appreciation, forgiveness, mass meditation, she added.
Also attending the function were Dr. Ch. Jamini Devi, Founder, Divya Jyoti Ashram, Shr Jyotin Waikhom, Vice-President, BJP Manipur Pradesh among others. Gifts and mementos were presented to the dignitaries and a “Khamba Thoibi” dance performance was also performed.
