SHAPE YOUR FUTURE TODAY: MINISTER BISWAJIT ADVISES STUDENTS

Imphal, November 8, 2017 (DIPR): The present is the most important time and we have to create our future today, said Works Minister Shri Thongam Biswajit Singh today. The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the The Annual Freshers’ Meet cum Literacy & Cultural Meet, 2017-18 of Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School at the school campus.

He said we have to be very strong today for our better tomorrow. We can succeed only if we are hardworking and have patience. If the foundation is strong, the building is strong, the Minister added.

He advised the students to have aims and aspirations and learn how to act to achieve them. The youth plays a significant role in the development of a society, he said. Our society will develop if everyone fulfills their responsibilities, he added.

Elaborating further, the Minister said no one will work for us, we have to work hard to shape our own future. Of all the resources, human resource is the most important, he said.

Minister Biswajit also spoke on the importance of education and said sustainable development is possible with education. Development, he explained, is possible only when we remove or eradicate illiteracy.

The Minister also advised the students to encourage a clear and positive mindset so as to attract positivity in their lives.

He further assured to find a proper way to provide drinking water facilities in the school. He also wished the students a grand success in all their future endeavors.

Education Minister Shri Thokchom Radheshyam Singh, who attended the inaugural function as the president, said the students are the future of the people and they have to give the people a bright future of Manipur.

He said the youth are full of positive energy and talents and the people have confidence in them that they will bring a bright future to the State. Speaking on the reason for organising freshers’ meet, the Minister said when the old and the new meet and converge on this day they are empowered and can do better. There will be no problem that we cannot face if we stand united, he added.

With the ideas and energy of the new and the experience of the old, TG can do much better, he said.

We educate ourselves to bring unity and bridge all differences. Education is a holistic approach to lead a meaningful life and to let others lead a meaningful life, the Education Minister said.

Today’s students are far ahead of the older generation in knowledge, skill and talents and it is very important that we channelise all these talents and skills towards positivity. And the teachers should act as the guides, he said.

He said we have to learn to respect our teachers and parents and then only we will rise.

Minister Radhesyham also spoke elaborately on moral, values and principle.

He further assured to look into all the necessities of the school and said construction of the school hostel building will be completed at the earliest. He said construction of smart classroom or an auditorium for the school to organise smaller functions are in the pipeline.

He further appreciated the teachers for their contribution towards the society.

The Education Minister also said that there are a few teachers who lack morality and are dishonest to their profession. He cited a few examples wherein some teachers are found working at two postings and withdrawing both salaries simultaneously. He warned to take action against such teachers and asked them to come out on their own.

Today’s inaugural function was also attended by Director of Education (S) Shri Th. Kirankumar Singh and T.G. Hr. Sec. School Principal Shri L.Biren Singh as presidium members.

Other highlights of the function include cultural items performed by students of the school and distribution of prizes to class toppers. (DIPR)
