Imphal,October 1,2017 (DIPR): Information and Public Relations Minister Shri Thongom Biswajit Singh said that Shumang Leela is an platform for reflecting social issues of the soceity.
Addressing the gathering on the inaugural function of two days long seminar on ‘ Shumang Leela Tradition’, the minister stated that shumang Leela is the only art form which can be witnessed by all irrespective of age .
He further observed that we need to promote and preserve this particular art form , as it is providing employment generation in our society. At the same time culture integration will strengthen the bonding between different communities residing in the state.
Minister Biswajit also said that the government is committed in keeping transparency in every aspects. Each and everyone of us has to play aS key role in bringing development in the society and development of our society is in the hands of the people,he added.
He also urge the members of the council to put up the portariat of all artistan in the gallery to made the gallery more attractive and at the same time the artiste will also get due recognition.
The Minister also assured to the member of Manipur State Shumang Leela Council to fulfil their demands in consultation with the Chief Minister.
The two days long seminar is being organised by Manipur state shumang Leela Council with an aim to promote and preserve this unique art form. On the opening session of the seminar various resource person presented papers.
