MOREH, November 7, 2017 (DIPR): Water Resources and YAS Minister Shri Letpao Haokip urged residents of Moreh to show maximum cooperation to the developmental initiatives of the Govt and take maximum benefits from the projects and schemes instead of opposing them.

The Minister was speaking at a felicitation programme organised in his honour at the conference hall of HTC, Moreh, Tengnoupal district during his visit to the border town today.

Shri Letpao Haokip said that Moreh is a home to many ethnic communities. He urged all concerned to show mutual love, respect and mutual trust among all communities living in the town so that there is healthy development in the township.

Pointing out that the Govt has many things in mind for the development of Moreh like expansion of Asian Highway passing through Moreh and setting up of Logistic Park and Tourists Circuit, Shri Letpao Haokip said the cooperation of the locals to these developmental plans is required. Instead of resisting developmental activities, the locals should extend cooperation to the Govt and derive maximum benefits from the projects and schemes.

Later, gracing the closing ceremony of the 14th MYC Inter-Unit football tournament 2017 at Galngam Lentuol, Shri Letpao Haokip urged all communities living in the town to coexist peacefully. He also urged MYC to promote inter-community interaction by organising the tournament in a bigger way.

He also assured to develop Galngam Lentuol under Centre’s Khello India programme.

Asserting that there would be development only when there is peace and harmony, he urged all concerned to pursue peace.
