GOVERNMENT REVIEWS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES OF CCPUR

Imphal, July 14, 2017 (DIPR): The State Government minutely examined various developmental projects being implemented in Churachandpur District and also deliberated the proposals of new projects to be taken up in the district in a review meeting held at District Training Centre Hall, near DC Office, Churachandpur today.

The high level meeting, attended by Cabinet Ministers, Administrative Secretaries, DC, SP, Directors and district level officers of different Departments, was presided by Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh.

The meeting assessed the projects executed by various Departments in the district and the Chief Minister specifically examined the progress of infrastructure, connectivity, drinking water, education and health sectors.

Churachandpur DC Shri Shyamlal Poonia presented a Powerpoint presentation on the present status and developmental proposals at the meeting.

After perusing the reports presented by different Ministers, MLAs, Administrative Secretaries, DC and Departmental heads, the Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to take up necessary steps to revamp Churachandpur-Henglep road and the roads of district headquarters soon after the rainy season.

Regarding drinking water, Shri N. Biren directed the officials to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) on providing clean drinking water to the people of the district by using the waters of Khuga Dam as the main source.

Moreover, the Chief Minister also opined that the damaged intake of Koite stream and Lanva river could be developed as RCC Check Dams under a Central Government-funded water harvesting project.

On being informed by the DC about manpower and infrastructure inadequacies of the Churachandpur District Hospital, the Chief Minister informed that the inadequacies faced in all the hill districts regarding health sector would be addressed after seeking reports from the respective DCs.
